Information for Providers
TheCareIndex is open to providers of all manner of residential and foster care, spanning all age groups and all manners of specialist services. There is no charge to register, no subscription and no charge for putting details of your carers or your care provision on the database.
You do need to register
We do need you to register with TheCareIndex and we'll ask you to give details including nominating a contact person, the type of service you are offering, the service users, your contact details and various other details including the date of your CSCI registration.
The costs
There are none. From March 1st we will be offering the service free of charge. That's not to say that at some point we may want to implement a charging structure, but for the time being, the aim is to get both Providers and Commissioners using the database.
Control of your data
You will also have access to a secure ‘back-end' management area of the site, where you can edit your details, put care places online or offline, and check on referral results going back over a year. There is no sensitive information available to viewers which will identify a service user and the whole system is protected behind a Secure Socket Layer - that's an encryption that prevents anyone from intercepting message between you and the site. We are registered with the Data Controller and observe rigourosly the provisions of the Data Protection Act.
Enquiries
Your will receive enquiries by email, and it is your responsibility to respond directly to the Commissioner or Ssocial worker raising the enquiry. We will not know of the enquiry and play no part in the referrals process.
